When bad weather is a possibility, and subsequently predicted for our area, we have a four hour window in which to cancel the band. If there is any chance that it could possibly rain, we then must guage both the duration and severity of that weather event, and then make the tough decision as if we should cancel the band or not. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our customers, staff and band members. We will always err on the side of caution. Much like those who professionally cast the weather, we don’t always get it right.
The decision process of canceling our bands have many variables. The overall thought process is listed below. First and foremost is the safety of our customers, our band players & our staff. • High winds, lightening, rain: Safety of customers moving to shelter, all the electrical outlets, wiring cables, electrical equipment on stage. 60 amps/110v. • The 10's of thousands of dollars of equipment at risk of getting damage. • Predicted or unpredicted forecasts, the change in storm patterns & intensity of storms. • There isn't anyone that wants all the bands to play more than us. Everything we do in planning, scheduling & paying for these bands take endless hours. • Both bands & our company agree in a signed contract that the decision to play or not will be made 4 hours prior to start time. If band members feel at risk they have a right to cancel & same for us. • We have endured through countless storms & one hurricane. We have been blessed with no one being serious hurt and I pray we never have such a situation.
